MEDITATING ON CLOUD 17 #INMYCALVINS

Mittwoch, April 11 Kapstadt, Südafrika

3:52 PM Right now I am getting ready for my next trip...home is calling! I can't wait to be back in New York, but there's so much stuff I need to organize right now...this is the perfect moment to sit down and turn everything off. Putting my phone away, my laptop - anything. Time to slow down, stretch, or just close the eyes to embrace the moment.

Since I'm meditating, I found so much balance and I actually become a better person because of it.

Stress is not killing me like it used to...I can be a better performer whether it's my daily life or physical work. I listen to my own meditation mixes and I can't believe how much my body got used to all these meditation habits. Even running sort of becomes an act of meditation - I love it.

In Africa, I found back to a meditation ritual I did almost every day. Especially during vacations, I tend to skip forward and forget to stop and smell the flowers. No matter what I experienced, I made sure to write it down and included it into my meditation session. It doesn't matter if it's a 5 minute session where I imagine to sit on the beach, watching the ocean change its colors, or a 20 minute run through the museum again, seeing all the colors and prints which made me speechless for a second. That's how my brain can work best...

Meditating in our Airbnb was also something special. It was the perfect ritual to say goodbye to a new city that won my heart in an instant. Sitting on cloud 17 (our apartment was up, up high), watching over the city, felt beyond good. Seeing all the lights, the mountains and listening to vibrant city life - Cape Town is special in its own way.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.
Preparing for a long flight home, but I also wanted to appreciate the time I experienced there! Thanking my feet to guide me through the city and my eyes to witness all this beauty. Man, this meditation thing is crazy.

I turned off the sound...I start to meditate with no sounds...just listening to my breath.
My heart was happy.
These intimate moments are the ones I cherish the most. No matter where I'm at. I should do this more often...like really everyday or every second day.
How about you?
